Marlayna is an urban indigenous woman of Quinault & Yaqui descent + German / mixed European settler and her pronouns are she/her/hers. Working on the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She is currently reconnecting to her identity & cultures through personal healing & discovery while mentoring and supporting others to do the same.
As an agency represented celebrity makeup artist/hair stylist with over 20 years of experience in the fashion and film industry she brings an extensive amount of knowledge & experience with a calm, kind, positive, leading energy.
Trauma informed holistic healer, instructor, mentor, advisor, director, graphic/web designer, marketing strategist, business owner she wears many hats. She is also a co-founder / owner of Hype Chocolate, co-host of the podcast ‘Can We Just’ and founder of The Reiki Gaia Market.
With many impressive clients under her belt like Aritzia, Adidas, Porsche, Lululemon, Canada Goose, Rolex, Warner Brothers, Universal Music and HGTV to name a few. When she’s not working at one of her many jobs you can find her exploring in nature, atv-ing, wake boarding or cycling.
Marlayna stays authentic to her core values by remaining committed to always working with various genders races and communities who share the same passion and dedication to being curious, inclusive and progressive. She does this as a beautician but also by volunteering as a mentor and Artist for various programs primarily within the indigenous community.
